The Eighth Book of the Metamorphoses of Ovid (Expurgated Edition)

Liber, attributed to this author, is of a later date, this may be due to the fact that we have only an abridgment of the original work, made doubt less at a late period. C. Julius Hyginus was a friend of Ovid’s, was librarian of the Palatine Library and, according to Suetonius, was learned in Alexandrian literature.
