The other side of the sidewalk

What does it mean to be born in a country – yet constantly feel the need to explain yourself?

The Other Side of the Sidewalk (Invisibly German) is a powerful collection of five true accounts that chart a life caught between hope and disappointment, between legal ideals and human indifference. Arber Shabanaj – known by his artistic name Jembiter Liber – offers deeply personal insights into systemic exclusion, linguistic isolation, and a society often unwilling to confront its own contradictions.
With poetic clarity and unflinching honesty, this book captures the reality of countless people with so-called migration backgrounds – a reality often overlooked or deliberately ignored.
A stirring call for justice, dignity, and the courage to listen – especially when it’s uncomfortable.
